It’s been a while, but there are a couple of new books in the works. In October 2008 Guardian Books will publish A Clue to Our Lives. It’s an affectionate tribute to the setters and solvers who have made the Guardian crossword the much loved institution it is today.
In April 2009 Ebury will publish What I Love About Cricket. Possibly the publishing event of the season (in the same way as my going in to bat is a prelude to possibly the finest innings ever seen in England) What I Love about Cricket does what it says on the tin. It tells the story of me trying to teach my daughter’s first love the virtues of the game. But he is more interested in her... It’s a love story, really - and large chunks of it are true.
So as you can see, I’ve been having fun doing - and writing about - the things I love.
