Nuts about Chocolate

 

When I’m not writing books I help out with one or two Fairtrade companies selling nuts and chocolate. The USP of both companies is that, unlike most companies selling Fairtrade products, the largest share of each company is owned by small scale farmers around the world.

 

I’ve been involved with Divine Chocolate for more than a decade now. We’re most active in the UK and USA, but you can find our chocolate as far away as South Korea. The link for Divine USA is here.

 

Liberation Foods is a newer company. We supply most of the own brand Fairtrade nuts in the UK, but also sell under our own brand names: Liberation Nuts and Harry’s Nuts! Harry Hill is our number 1 supporter and he’s nuts about our nuts although he’s not, as it were, nuts.

 

The catalyst behind both companies is Twin, an NGO that, for more than 20 years, has been at the forefront of changing the way we think about trading relations and the supply chains behind the foods we eat.
